Please meet the newest member of the Hunter family. His name is Chewey. Incorporating him into the animal portion of our family hasn’t been easy. He is a very loving cat. And he gets along ok with Faith. However, Biskit is not very welcoming to the poor guy. She is a one cat household kind of cat. As you know, cats are very territorial. And THIS house is HERS. So, she and Chewey are still trying to work out their relationship. So, we are a blended family. And the blending isn’t working. Every now and then you will just hear this vicious hissing from somewhere in the house. That means we know that Chewey has walked past Biskit or into whatever room she is in. We have had multiple cats before with Biskit. But for the last 4 years or so she has been the lone cat in the household. I think eventually she will get used to the idea that Chewey is here to stay.
At any rate, isn’t he adorable? He’s very sweet. He loves to rub up against everything. Right now he just lays off to the side and watches as things go on around him. We got him from a friend of mine who is moving out of the country and can’t take him with her. She says he is a lap cat. I can see that in him but he won’t allow any of us to hold him yet. So, we are just in the wait mode. We are waiting around for him to get used to us.
Do you have any ideas how to incorporate him into our family? I’m sure there is no magic trick to get Biskit to like him. But if there is please tell me.
