This week’s Finding The Happy entry is about Mr. and Mrs. Snowman. Last Friday night we went to eat dinner at Cracker Barrel. Of course it is IMPOSSIBLE to go to Cracker Barrel and not at least look around the shop. And once you look around it is IMPOSSIBLE not to buy something. If you don’t want to buy something other than food then don’t even bother going there. They already have their Christmas sale going (as does every other blessed store in the world). So once I saw that it was pretty much a done deal. I could feel cash flying out of my pocket toward the cash registers like they were magnetic. I had no choice really. (At least that is what I told Ron and I would appreciate it if you wouldn’t tell him otherwise.) When I saw Mr. and Mrs. Snowman I’m quite confident that they actually spoke to me. I could hear them saying “I would look too adorable on your mantel”, “We need a home and we have chosen yours”, “Aren’t we the most precious thing in this entire store?”….I think you get the idea. I felt a smile spread across my face as I looked at the very helpful sale chart they put on their sale displays for those of us who couldn’t add 2 and 2 without a calculator. The chart said they were $5.99 EACH. SERIOUSLY? How on earth can you walk away from such cuteness at that price? I’m sure it would have been a sin somewhere in the universe. So I allowed the force to draw me in, chose my pair and went to the register to make sure all of my money had made it to the register. I walked out with one of Cracker Barrel’s cool bags with the handles and these:
Can’t you feel the happiness? Aren’t they precious? And they look quite perfect on our mantel as you can see. They were made for our home. But I’m sure they have friends at a Cracker Barrel close to you that would look just as lovely on your mantel.
