We had our family Christmas Saturday night. Our tradition at the time that we open presents is that we usually read the Christmas story from Luke 2. However, this year we decided to do something a little different at Lauren’s request. She wanted each of us to share our favorite verse. Therein lies my Perfect Moment for this week. Lauren started. Hers is Nahum 1:7-10 – From The Message – 7-10God is good, a hiding place in tough times. He recognizes and welcomes anyone looking for help, No matter how desperate the trouble. But cozy islands of escape He wipes right off the map. No one gets away from God. Why waste time conniving against God? He’s putting an end to all such scheming. For troublemakers, no second chances. Like a pile of dry brush, Soaked in oil, they’ll go up in flames.
Mine is Jeremiah 29:11-14 – From The Message – I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. 12“When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. 13-14“When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. “Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.”God’s Decree. “I’ll turn things around for you. I’ll bring you back from all the countries into which I drove you”—God’s Decree—”bring you home to the place from which I sent you off into exile. You can count on it.
Ron’s was Nehemiah 4:14 – From The Message – Put your minds on the Master, great and awesome, and then fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes.”
Michael’s was Philippians 4:13 – From The Message – Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.
There are the perfect moments of the week – four of them actually! Four beautiful moments – four beautiful truths – four beautiful promises.
