Capturing Spring

A Prayer in Spring

Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.

Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.

And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.

For this is love and nothing else is love,
The which it is reserved for God above
To sanctify to what far ends He will,
But which it only needs that we fulfil.

The theme for You Capture over at Beth’s Blog, I Should Be Folding Laundry, is SPRING! I think spring is so much more beautiful because we’ve just drug ourselves through the cold and dreary days of winter. The pictures I’m sharing today are shots I’ve taken in the last 6 weeks. I’m looking forward to the Summer theme in a few weeks so I’ll be able to share pictures of my flowers – after I buy them of course.
This is a beautiful flower that Michael’s girlfriend’s younger sister picked for me at Michael’s soccer game last night. So sweet!
These are beautiful flowers at our resort trip to Phoenix Arizona last month. They were all so vibrant and smelled beautiful!
Reading in the hammock on a Spring afternoon. Perfection!
Faith enjoys the warm sun of spring too.
When she’s not enjoying the hammock with me. Ok – actually she was begging me to go inside.
The best part about Spring for me is a trip to the beach with a good book!
